Meet Mrs. Tenvoorde-Thomas

I have been teaching at Earle Brown Elementary for 19 years. Every year I look forward to getting to know students and their parents.

Away from school, I enjoy spending time with family. My family includes my husband, Jeff and my two sons, Alec and Ashton.  We love to go to the cabin and fish, swim, boat and sit around the campfire. I spend a lot of time cheering on my boys at their basketball, soccer and football games. I love to read, watch movies and go for walks. I love to make people laugh and believe that every day should be filled with positive thoughts and laughter.

My goal as a teacher is to create an inviting classroom to all students. I believe each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. I will help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk taking, is FUN, and invites sharing of ideas. One of my other goals as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them. I believe the parent-teacher relationship is vital to your child’s success in school. By working together, we can help your child have a very fulfilling learning experience. I would like to thank you in advance for your support and commitment throughout the year!
